Five of the Most Epic Motorcycle Routes Near Nashville, TN

Nashville is the country music capital of the world. It’s also a city with a thriving arts and cultural community, as well as a great nightlife and social scene. It’s overall a wonderful place to live, work, and visit. What makes this place special for our founding partner and managing attorney, Phil Georges, however, is the chance to ride some of the most epic motorcycle routes in the world. Check out the Wolf of Justice’s™ guide to some of the best motorcycle routes near Nashville when you’re planning your next ride.

CHALLENGE THE DRAGON

This one-day trip encompasses just 11 miles and is known as the “Tail of the Dragon.” It takes about three hours to travel this stretch of highway along U.S. 129. It’s certainly the most winding trail on our list, making for a challenging ride. But with the stunning wooded views, it’s well worth a visit for any motorcycle enthusiast.

RIDE THE BUFFALO TRAILS AT NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY

This parkway was built in the 1930s along a former migratory trail for buffaloes. If you’re a history buff, you don’t want to miss this 444-mile ride. It’s a designated national scenic byway and includes a wealth of sites, like ghost towns, Civil War battle sites, and markers designating the original Natchez Trace Indian Trail. Trucks are forbidden on this roadway, which increases safety, but there aren’t any major hotels, eateries, or commercial services nearby. There are, however, a lot of B&Bs that are biker-friendly.

EXPLORE THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU

This route is located about 70 miles outside of Nashville by Center Hill Lake and is a single-day trip. It’s properly called the Cumberland Plateau Tour and allows stunning views of the lake before winding through high ridges, low valleys, and thick, green forests. There are some great local eateries along the way, and you can also visit nearby Edgar Evins State Park or a few other recreational areas.

DRIVE AMONG THE CLOUDS

The Cherohala Skyway is another day trip about three hours from downtown Nashville that spans 51 miles with scenic views at an elevation reaching 5,400 feet above sea level. This is another curvy route, so if you’re riding at night or in inclement weather, be very careful. Also, be aware that this stretch of roadway doesn’t offer much in the way of eateries or lodgings, so plan your trip to eat or stay in places like Robbinsville, North Carolina, or Tellico Plains. Finally, if you enjoy fishing or kayaking, you’ll find the best in this area.

HEAD FOR ASHLAND CITY

This particular route starts in Nashville and ends at Eaton’s Creek. It alternates between straight runs and curves, and it will take you through quaint green countryside and rolling farm pastures. It’s a flat and easy ride that’s well-maintained and ideal for a relaxing trip. Plan in advance, though, because there are only a few gas stations from point to point. Your best bet is to stop at the intersection of the Clarksville Highway and I-24.

That means your injury could be judged by an algorithm—one that doesn’t explain its decisions and can’t possibly understand real human suffering.
